Hurricane Katrina Video Project – Home Owners
With an estimated billion—or more—in insured losses caused by Hurricane Katrina, it is clear that insurance will play a substantial role in the rebuilding of the devastated Gulf Coast region. As part of its commitment to public service, Gilbert LLP has produced two videos to help those affected better understand common insurance coverage issues, and to provide practical pointers for maximizing insurance recovery for this and future disasters. This video is aimed at homeowners and goes over some basics of insurance coverage, including: – Tips for documenting a claim for insurance proceeds – What’s covered by the standard homeowners policy, with an emphasis on hurricane-specific issues such as wind, flood, and mold – How to be better prepared for future disasters
