Insurer Conducted Full and Fair Review, Judge Holds

BROOKLYN, NY – A New York federal judge on Dec. 30 ruled that an ERISA-governed disability insurer that relied on record reviews and surveillance video in its decision to terminate benefits acted reasonably (Joseph E. Duncan v. Cigna Life Insurance Company of New York, No. 10-CV-1164, E.D. N.Y.; 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 150546).
