NFLPA Exec. Director on NFL Labor Negotiations (Edge Of Sports) – TYT Sports
Host of Edge of Sports Radio Dave Zirin and former NBA guard Laron Profit speak with NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith about what progress, if any, is being made between the union and the league as the deadline approaches and a potential work stoppage looms over the NFL. Smith explains that the league has threatened to cut health insurance on all the players and their families in March 2011 when the current collective bargaining agreement expires to motivate them to make concessions and accept the owners’ lackluster offer. On a scale of 1 to 10, Smith maintains that the chances the owners will lockout the players from playing next season is at a 14.
